A UAE Residence Visa is more than just a permit to live in the country; it is a gateway to the UAE's world-class infrastructure and lifestyle. With a residence visa, you are issued an Emirates ID, which is mandatory for almost all essential services. You need a residence visa to open a personal bank account, sign a residential lease (Ejari), obtain a UAE driving license, and access healthcare and education systems.
The UAE has significantly overhauled its visa systems in recent years, offering more flexibility, longer durations, and decoupled visas that do not strictly tie residents to a single employer.
Determine which residence visa aligns with your goals.
Available to individuals who set up a company in the UAE mainland or a free zone, or those who buy shares in an existing company. Typically valid for 2 years.
Sponsored by a UAE-based employer. The employer handles the application through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) or free zone authorities.
A long-term (5 or 10 years) residence visa granted to investors, entrepreneurs, specialized talents, and outstanding students. Allows 100% foreign ownership and self-sponsorship.
Available to individuals who purchase real estate in the UAE valued at a specific threshold (e.g., AED 750,000 for a 2-year visa, or AED 2 million for a 10-year Golden Visa).
A 1-year renewable visa for remote workers employed by companies outside the UAE, and freelancer permits issued by specific free zones (like Shams or TECOM).
Residents holding a valid UAE visa can sponsor their spouses, children, and sometimes parents, provided they meet specific salary requirements.
How we process your visa from start to finish.
We apply for an initial entry permit (or e-Visa) which allows you to enter the UAE for the purpose of residence.
If you are already inside the UAE on a tourist visa, we process a status change to activate your residence entry permit without needing to exit the country.
A mandatory blood test and chest X-ray conducted at an approved government medical fitness center.
Typing the Emirates ID application and attending a biometric fingerprinting session at a Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) center.
